"Working with horses is what I love"

Andrea's journey in the equestrian world began with a serendipitous shift in her family's lifestyle when she was just four years old. Settling into a property in Yellingbo opened the door to her lifelong passion for horses, starting with her beloved companion, 'Wendy'. Together, they explored the bushlands and national parks, filling Andrea's weekends with joy and laughter alongside her sister.

Her equestrian journey unfolded at the Macclesfield Pony Club, where Andrea honed her skills and nurtured her love for riding until the age of 21. Later, she embarked on an exciting chapter with her homebred gelding, "Freedom Upover," delving into the exhilarating world of eventing. Their partnership blossomed as they competed across Victoria, culminating in a memorable appearance at the prestigious Melbourne 3 Day Event 1*.

Throughout her journey, Andrea remained deeply rooted in the equestrian community, actively involved in the Seville Pony Club while her own daughters discovered the joys of riding. Her dedication extended to the Wandin ARC, enriching her experience as both a rider and a spectator.

A dynamic entrepreneur, Andrea's ventures alongside her husband, Mike, included owning the Seville Stockfeed Store before venturing into the realm of equestrian retail with The Saddlery Shop in Seville. Through this endeavor, she deepened her understanding of saddle fitting, completing the ASFA Saddle Fitting Course and offering expert advice to her clientele.

Guided by the seasoned expertise of Saddler Paul Buckland, Andrea found mentorship and inspiration, further refining her craft. Even now, she continues to devote a day each week to working alongside Paul in his workshop, where she contributes her skills in saddle maintenance and repair, including the meticulous task of replacing or relocating points and re-flocking saddles. Andrea's journey is a testament to her enduring passion for horses, her dedication to excellence, and her unwavering commitment to the equestrian community.
With her keen eye for detail and a genuine concern for the well-being of both horse and rider, saddle fitting and repairs have become a natural extension of her expertise. Always striving for the optimal solution that prioritizes the comfort and performance of both equine and equestrian, Andrea approaches each task with meticulous care and dedication.

Andrea is engaged in refreshing her Accredited Saddle Fitters of Australasia (ASFA) course, eager to enhance her skills and stay abreast of industry advancements.

Andrea's commitment to fostering positive equestrian experiences extends beyond her professional pursuits, as she actively collaborates with several pony clubs, offering her services at reduced rates during dedicated saddle fitting days.
