Terry Waddell

Terry is dedicated to unlocking the full potential of your horse while ensuring ongoing well-being. With a profound understanding of the pivotal role saddles play as the interface between rider and horse, Terry emphasizes the importance of a well-fitted saddle for optimal performance and the maintenance of equine back health.

"As the saddle is the interface between Rider and Horse, it is imperative that it fits well.  When wearing a pair of well fitting boots or shoes, we never think about them - we think of everything else instead."

Terry underscores the significance of a saddle that seamlessly integrates into the riding experience, allowing both rider and horse to focus on their partnership without distraction.

As a seasoned professional saddle fitter, Terry approaches each assessment with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring a tailored fit that harmonizes the needs of both horse and rider. With a commitment to excellence and a passion for equine welfare, Terry strives to elevate every riding experience by establishing a foundation of comfort, balance, and performance.

The Saddle fitter's skill focus is to:
- Get maximum performance out of the Horse on the day
- Through advice to the owner on the Horse's anatomy and mandatory checks which the saddle must pass, help to ensure that the horse has no ‘down time’ with a sore back and the owner doesn't have to spend money on therapy.

Where possible, a ridden test must be viewed to check Rider/Horse and Saddle are all balanced and working correctly.

A written report is provided showing relevant horse measurements and remarks, changes made to the Saddle along with any references deemed necessary for continued good health of the Horse and enjoyment of the Rider.

• Present saddle feels ‘unbalanced’ causing back or hip pain for you and difficult to sit up straight.
• Horse not travelling straight or not happy in transitions or 'resisting your aids' or going with 'false collection'.
